I decided to place some fired paper clay into a paint palette and pour white liquid latex inside, and this is the outcome. The temptation is to cut out the textured areas and use them in a more three-dimensional format, for example around a wire structure. The fascinating aspect of this is the fact that when thin and textured, the latex can resemble skin, which is especially apt at the moment as my work revolves around using heads as a metaphor.
